by John Dye MOBILE AL 4/1/02 -- Star studded fields abound throughout the Invitational division, which will run Saturday afternoon and evening. The best of the Southeast region will be joined by several national stars including the Zeigle twins (Laura and Jackie) of Bingham UT; Phil Gaeta and Kiera Carlstrom of Oakton VA; and Jacob Gomez of Klamath Union OR. Mississippi champion Janice Davis, who was second last year in both the 200 and 400 to MVP Stephanie Smith, is favored in the 100 and 200 this year. The 2-Mile fields are especially deep. Oak Mountain AL sr Scott Fuqua, who just broke 9 minutes in the Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans last week, returns to defend his Mobile crown. He will be joined by a gang of others with national reputations such as Milos Mitric NC, Jacob Gomez OR, Rolf Steier FL, Isaac Lafond KY, Ryan Ripley FL, Steven Hassan FL and Fleet Hower VA. The Zeigle twins, multiple Utah state champions, lead the girls field.
